But we often reinstall our system and without proper backup process our program files are also gone but and every time and you install your browser again and all themes extensions you use. But in this post I will tell you how to prepare your own installer of Firefox with all themes and extension you want so next time you install your browser your all themes and addons will be installed automatically.

First download Silence of Foxes from here and unpack in a new folder and also get the installers of addons and themes you want by right clicking the install icon and choosing save target as

You also need the Firefox installer. It is good if you have one if not download the latest version form here. Now lets begin with the process in the unpacked folder run the sof.exe file and choose Firefox as project.

And move ahead and choose location of your Downloaded setup and choose unpack.

After it’s done you should see the following screen

Now the tricky part is you need copy all your themes and extensions in the following folders

X:sofProjectFirefoxExtensions (x is your drive letter)

and themes into this directory

X:sofProjectFirefoxThemes

You can also choose the pack my files option it will add all existing addons and themes to your installer.

After its done packing click next and you will find your installer in the SOF folder.

And your installer is ready to use. So build your own installer and share with us.

The very popular Read More or Expandable summaries hack almost every blogger uses this hack but this hack is quite irritating especially if your using the version in which you have to divide the post into two parts summary and the rest of it, also this version sometimes works and sometimes does not and its hard to implement on a old blogger since you have to divide each post to apply this hack uniformly.

Simple Commands in Youtube

There are lot short commands that are very useful in Youtube that can be suffixed at the end of your video URL to enjoy their functionality

Suffix

‘&fmt=18? for high quality videos

#t=XXmYYs for XX mins and YY seconds using this you can view video from exact time you want for example if you want to view your video from 2min 22 sec the command you should use is

#t=02m22s

‘&rel=0? – to disable related videos

Well, these are good but i personally find them very irritating and absurd as you need to do it manually every time you watch any videos.

The good news is there are scripts and addons available for it.

Well,  I have been using Gmail from the past 3 years and I never felt the need to anywhere else.

Why Gmail?

1. A clutter-free Inbox is probably the first thing that you will notice about this service.
2. It’s Inbox and compose options are straightforward also among the few services that does not clog up your inbox with image ads and waste your bandwidth every time you load your Inbox.
3. It also offers a basic html version if you are on a dead slow PC connection.

You must be aware of most of the facts written above, but there are few more points I’d like to share with you…

Gmail also offers SSL connection but you have to turn it on via settings… adding an extra layer of security.

Also, with the launch of Google themes you can add colors to your Inbox. These themes are dynamic and they change their schemes and patterns automatically, giving you a new look every time you open your Inbox.

Also, there are tons of other features which you can add via Gmail Labs feature.

Talking of Labs, there are many apps that can be used but the one that I like most is the Undo send Feature which stops the delivery of the message you have sent by mistake. The funny part is that you have only five seconds to do it.

With Google gears, you can take your Inbox with you wherever you go.. it backs up everything and loads up in no time… it’s extremely useful in cases where you need to check a few important e-mails and you have no internet connection.

By the using the Twitter widget gadget you can also send your twitter updates and receive your friends tweets… a very good way to tweet.

The gadget I love most is the translate gadget that is useful while replying to e-mails to clients that speak foriegn languages. This gadget does the job for you without you having to visit the Translate webpage.

Greasemonkey scripts

If you don’t know what is Greasemonkey and what it is used for, then you should check this post first and then proceed ahead.

Gmail macros is the first and recommended script for a better Gmail experience. This scrip enables a lot of keyboard shortcuts that won’t let your hands off the keyboard.

Well, there is another useful script called  Gmail attachment script. This replaces the attachment icon by file specific icons.

Instead of going script by script installation, you can go for the Better Gmail add ons (for Mozilla) which is a collection of these and some more user scripts.

Gmail is also the best anti-spam filtering service online and makes it work for your personal domain also. All you need to do is add your account to Gmail. To do that, navigate to settings and add your existing E-mail account.

Also, you can use outlook to read your e-mails that comes via your Gmail account. For this feature, head to Gmail’s Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab and enable IMAP and follow these instructions.

Now when you read E-mails on your mobile using outlook,  Gmail will block all spam and you can read E-mails that you really need.

In this way Gmail acts as a spam-killer between your PC and Smart phone.

This is very easy to use hack but still backup your template before doing anything. Refer my previous post, for details about backup procedure.

This hack uses FreePDFConverter service, which is free as suggested by its name.

Steps:

1. Now go to your blogger dashboard click Edit HTML and then choose expand widget template option.
2. Then using your browser search feature search for <data:post.body>.
3. Once you have find it, add the following code after the <data:post.body> tag in your blogger template and hit Save Template button.

So I started observing some very nicely formatted blogs and noticed what kind of hacks and modification they use for successful blogging and tried to implement them in my own template. Voila! After hours of research and browsing, I have made a list of all hacks which are must have for a professional blog.

Back up first

It is important to backup your Blogger template (especially before attempting any template customizations). Download a copy of your template to your computer, which you can access in the future if you need to restore your theme (or your entire blog).

For Blogger XML based templates (Layouts):

Go to Layout > Edit HTML in your Blogger dashboard, then click on the link near the top of the page which says “Download Full Template”. This will save a copy of your full template as an XML file to your computer.

Expandable post hack…

This hacks gives your blog a professional look by shrinking your full post to few lines and displaying a read more or continue reading link. In many ways this hack is unique. It increases your page impressions and it also helps your blog to load quickly by just loading summaries instead of full posts. This hack has many variations. Many bloggers have modified it in their own way. Let’s see some good variations…

Variation 1

Ramani on hackosphere was one of first who promoted this hack. In this version of hack, it uses insertion of codes around various location of your template. This hack is good for people who use a simple template with many hacks.

One drawback is: your have to edit each of your earlier post and insert codes between them to apply this hack uniformly.

The problem with this is if you use other hacks it may get disturbed which may result in the read more link disappearing or sometimes appearing after post.Codes for this hack are linked below

This is really a simple and useful widget. It adds a paged navigation at the end of your posts. Nice way to increase your page impression and it also give option to reader to visit more of your posts in random order.

This is very useful and productive hack. It adds a list of related posts after your post content. This is the best way to make your visitor spend more time on your blog without annoying them at all. It also increases impressions and earnings. Also as a visitor spend more time on your blog, he is more likely to subscribe to your RSS feed.

Variation 1

Rias again offers a way to do this but his method is quite complex but offers flexibility. You can try it but it involves lot of editing. Good for bloggers who are comfortable with codes!

Just a two step process and you can add a set of booking icons that will appears at the end of your each post. You can add/remove social bookmarking icons that as per your choice.

Using AdSense after each post is best way to increase your AdSense revenue. It helps in getting more clicks on ads. I used Rahul’s method to do it.

This is good for people who do not use expandable post hack. The problem is, ad appears on home page as well the post pages. Look at screen shot below…

If you are using expandable post hack then it doesn’t look good to show ads on homepage. You can avoid this by adding two lines of code around codes provided in Rahul’s post…
