We had also covered this story in June 2009, but the deal has happened now and it looks like only Airtel would be selling iPhone 3GS in India.

Update: You can now check the official iPhone 3GS page on Airtel’s website. There will be two models of iPhone 3GS – 16 GB and 32 GB, both available in black and white colours. Prices have not yet been disclosed.

How were the accounts hacked?

The most probable reason for the accounts getting hacked is phishing. Wikipedia defines phishing as:

In the field of computer security, phishing is the criminally fraudulent process of attempting to acquire sensitive information such as user-names, passwords and credit card details by masquerading as a trustworthy entity in an electronic communication.

I feel my account is hacked, what should I do?

• You can fill the reset password form and request for a new password.
• If you feel that you account was on the list posted on pastebin, you can fill out this form to reclaim access to your account.

You should also take the following safety precautions so that you account doesn’t get hacked in the future:

• Reset you account’s password every 60-90 days.
• As phishing sites can also pose additional threats, please install and keep anti-virus software up to date.

Old Widget vs. New Widget

You might be wondering what is the difference between the old and the new translator bar widget, so here is a comparison between the both:

1. Auto-Language Detection – The new widget detects the language of the browser, and if it is different from the language of your website, then it prompts the user to change the language. If the language of the browser is same as of your website, then no prompt comes.
2. Stylish Translate Bar – The new widget has a translate bar which shows the language the page has been translated in, and other options like changing the language, restoring the original language of the website, and closing the bar.
3. Ajaxified Translation – I feel this is the best part – when you translate the page using the widget, it does not refresh the page, instead, it translates the website in the background and shows the translation side by side with a loader in the translate bar.
   
4. Requires Flash – Inspite of three pros listed above, I feel there is only one con and that is – that it requires flash, but the majority of the internet users have flash installed on their browser, so it isn’t a thing to worry.

After reading the above points, you must be interested in putting this widget on your website. You can easily do that by going to the translate tools page, copying the code and pasting it in your blog or website.

Vodafone has started a new ad campaign ‘ZooZoo’ in the place of its old ad campaign which contained a ‘pug’. PETA had also raised objections in the past to the use of animals in Vodafone’s ad campaigns.

The ‘pug’ advertisement was bad for real life pugs as many viewers purchased pugs and breeders cranked out as many puppies as they could. Late when the fad appeal wore off, many dogs ended up in shelters or were abandoned, the release said.

Well, I think all you fans must be happy out there after hearing this news.

A report from GAO tells us that the US government officials are concerned that the quality of the Global Positioning System (GPS) may start to deteriorate as early as 2010, which could result in regular blackouts and failures or even telling wrong directions to people.

The US Air Force has been maintaining the GPS networks and satellites from the 1990s. According to a study by GAO, mismanagement and a lack of investment could result in the failure of some of the important GPS satellites. The report says that the Air Force has failed to successfully build the GPS satellites within the cost and schedule goals due to technical problems.

The first replacement GPS satellite was due to launch in early 2007, but has been delayed until November this year – which is almost three years late! More delays might result in service outages which means millions people getting wrong directions or failed services. The military would also be affected as it uses GPS for mapping, reconnaissance and for tracking hostile targets.

If the service would fail, it would open gates for the European-funded attempt to rival America’s satellite navigation system, which would be rolled out later next year. More countries like India, Russia, and China have developed their own satellite navigation technologies that are currently being expanded.

Enabling Message Translation Feature

To enable this feature, simple follow these instructions:

• Login into Gmail
• Go to Settings
• Go to Labs
• Look for Message translation and enable it
  
• Click on Save changes button at the bottom

In this post, we will talk about different kinds of loops like – While Loop, Do-while Loop, For Loop and For-each Loop. We will also talk about – Continue, Break and Pointers.

While Loop

While loops are used to execute a block of code till a specified condition is true. The format of a while loop is:

while (expression)
statement;

The format of While Loop is much like the if statements. You may see a sample code here and its online demo here.

Do-while Loop

Do-while loops are much like the while loops. This loop executes the block of code atleast once and then executes it again only if the specified condition is true. The format of the do-while loop is:

do {
statement;
} while (expression);

You may see a sample code here and its online demo here.

For loop

For loops execute a block of code a specified number of times. They loop through the same way like the While Loops where the code is run when a condition is true but the syntax is a little different. Some may find this easy who have programming experience with other languages like C. The format of for loop is:

for (expression1, expression2, expression3) {
statement;

The first expression is evaluated at the very beginning of the loop for the very first time through the loop only. It’s like an initializing statement which happens only once. The second expression is an evaluated expression that happens at the beginning of every loop. That is what we had in the while loop before. The third one is what happens at the end of each and every loop.

You may read the 3 expressions as initial (this is, the initial value we are giving, we are initializing something), test (it is the test which we perform each time and as long it is true, it will continue the loop) and each (each is the action we perform at the end of every loop before looping back to the top and doing the test again).

Foreach Loop

Foreach loops are used to execute a block of code for each element in an array. The format of Foreach Loop is:

foreach ($array as $value)
statement;

This loop is different from other loops. In other loops, we are always testing a boolean whether it is true or not. Foreach Loops only works on arrays and the boolean test in Foreach Loops is do we have items still left in an array. So Foreach Loop will go through every single element of the array. Each of those elements in the array will become the value and the value can be referenced in the statement.

Continue

As we have learnt about loops, there are some more options that you should know. One of them is continue. You may see a sample code here for explanation on continue. The online demo for the same is here.

Break

Break ends the execution of the loop. After which, PHP skips the loop then and there and jumps to the next task it has to do. You may see a sample code here for more explanation. The online demo for the same is here.

Pointers

When you have an array in a PHP file, PHP maintains a pointer that points to the current value of an array and by default it’s only the first value. And, when we start looping through an array, PHP moves that pointer along the array to get each value and to keep a track on which value it has already used in the array.
