The effects start showing on people who constantly use their mobile phones (on an average) for at least 30 minutes daily. So the main precaution you can take is to reduce your phone usage.

Just keep these tips in mind :

• Reduce phone usage the most you can.
• Use headphones or hands-free kits, as they keep you away from the radiation emitted by the phones. You could also use the speaker mode while calling.
• If available use a land-line phone.
• Text instead of calling.
• Keep your calls short.
• Strive for minimal usage in areas having low signal (1 bar) such as rural areas.
• Don’t allow small children to use mobile phones, unless necessary. Radiation may penetrate deeper due to their skulls still being in a development stage.
• Don’t cover the area, where the internal antenna is located within your phone (mostly in the middle-back part of your phone), with your hand. When you cover it, the phone emits more waves to find a proper signal. Refer to your phone manual to check the exact position of the internal antenna.
• Use phones having low SAR (specific absorption rate.) This is a measure of how much Radio Frequency (RF) energy the body absorbs.
• Use a 3G phone. There are reports that state that they emit lesser radio waves to the brain.

These are some of the tips you could follow, that will surely help you in the long run.

This is achieved using ADB on your computer. So please check that you have to following prerequisites:

• An android phone (of course )
• Android 2.2 (Froyo) on it
• A USB cable to connect your phone to the computer
• An SD card (inserted in your phone)
• Drivers for your phone (check phone manufacturers site)
• Java^TM Platform, JDK installed (download from here)
• Android SDK (download and install instructions)

That’s it. Now for our actual tutorial:

1. The first step is to go to your Settingsin your android phone => Applications and check USB Debugging. When you check it you might get a warning message, but just click on OK, and your ready to go.
2. Now connect your phone to your computer, via the USB cable. (Note: Don’t mount your SD card)
3. Now open a command prompt window from your Windows by going to Start menu => Run and type cmd and then press the enter key.
4. Now navigate to the ‘tools’ folder in your Android SDK folder (eg. If installed in C:\Program Files\Android\android-sdk-windows then in command prompt window type cd C:\Program Files\Android\android-sdk-windows\tools )
5. Now type the following command adb devices. You should get a serial number starting with “H” in return.
6. Now just type in the following command: adb shell pm setInstallLocation 2.
   
7. Thats it!

The next time you install an application it will automatically be placed on your SD card. If you want to revert back on these changes follow the above steps. The only change is at step 6 use the following command instead of the one above: adb shell pm setInstallLocation 0.

Note: If you install any widget apps,, you might want to move them back to phone memory, so that they function properly.

1. Take a break every 60-90 minutes and look away from your computer screen.
2. If your adamant on staying on your computer for longer durations of time, decrease your monitor’s brightness.
3. Eat Healthy – Avoid junk food the most you can.
4. Take the stairs to your home or office, instead of the elevator (5 floors by stairs and the rest via elevator would be a good start)
5. Quite possibly, the area of the body most affected would be the neck. Perform simple neck exercises (for eg. head roll exercise – google it!)
6. If you’re a hardcore blogger, you’d most possible have a seething backache. You could do some exercise for this as well.

   Correct Posture.

8. If possible, join a gym and exercise there regularly.
9. Avoid any sort of addictions to alcohol/smoking. A stationary lifestyle coupled with such addictions is a perfect recipe for disaster.
10. Listen to soothing music or play flash games. Better yet meet up with your friends and interact with them (offline, not on Facebook!) Take your mind off and release the stress!

Whats Defragmentation?

For the uninitiated, defragmentation is a process that reduces the amount of fragmentation in file systems. First of all what’s an .iso file?

Well its basically an image of the CD as it is. Rather that burning it as a file, you’ve got to burn it as an image into the CD.

Now here’s where the second trouble arises. If you were to search for something like ‘how to burn an ISO file’, you would probably get the answer of using Nero. Although it is a good software, it costs some dough (I’m an open source guy! ;D) and of late it’s got a lot of bloat accompanying it.

So what’s the free alternative then? Well a little searching around could lead to a lot of alternatives, still I prefer ISO Recorder (currently v2) Alex Feinman. You can download this software from here. It is currently available for Windows XP and above (even Seven.) It can be used to burn ISO’s to a CD or DVD.

Once downloaded, the installation is a breeze. Now just right click on the file that you want to burn as an image to the CD, and select ‘Copy Image To CD.’ That’s it, ISO Recorder would fire up immediately. Choose the drive you want to use for the burning process. You can also configure certain options like ‘Recording speed’ and ‘Eject afterwards.’

   Perhaps the most recognized file copier, Tera Copy is the leader in the market of external file copier’s. One of its best features is that it replaces the default Windows file copier with its own version. So you don’t have to do anything extra to copy a file via Tera Copy than Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V.

   

   You may download the software from here. It’s free for home users, but causes 14.95 € or about $22 for a pro version.

2. Extreme Copy

   Extreme copy is another popular file copier. It replaces the default Windows copier with it own version, however you can disable this feature. One interesting feature of Extreme Copy is it supports Break Point which is able to pause the copying operation if or when it encounters any problems, such as file being locked, and resume back when clicked on the “Continue” button once the problem is fixed.

   

   You may download the fully-working free version of this software from here. The pro version costs $19.95.

3. RichCopy

   Well this one’s got a history to itself. Although created in the days of Windows 95, it was used as an internal tool at Microsoft. It was not only before some months that they released it for public use. The highlight of this software is that it supports multi-threading copying, ie. multiple files are copied at once hence saving time in the copying process.

4. Talent Copy

   Talent Copy looks to better in the hardware side of file copying. It uses an advanced algorithm to limit empty HDD head moves, HDD waste, noise and power on file copying and increase file copy speed dramaticaly. In short, it is better for your hard disk than the default Windows file copier.

5. Copy Handler

   Well this one doesn’t replace your default file copier, but resides comfortably in your system tray. You can call it from up there, schedule the files that you want to copy and even have an option to automatically switch off your computer once the copying is over.

   

   The software is a freeware and can be downloaded from here.

Just a few days ago, Google announced its arrival into the rather competitive market of URL shorteners. And what better way to promote it, than by combining the popular google service-Feedburner, and twitter!

Most of the publishers earlier used twitterfeed.com for posting auto-mated RSS feeds to twitter. Over time as more and more people began to use it, I’ve found the site to be rather slow. Also many issues related to logging in to twitterfeed were also reported.

As many of the publishers already use feedburner to provide RSS feeds via e-mail, it would not only be convenient to use the all new feed to twitter service from Google, but would also give you the Google guarantee! So here’s how to do it.

Procedure:

1. Login at the feedburner using your Google account.
2. Select the feed that you want to publish to twitter.
3. Click on the Publicize tab.
4. After that, click on the Socialize option, from the services menu to the left.
   
5. Now click on the Add a Twitter Account button to add a twitter account to your feedburner account.
6. You will now be redirected to the twitter site. Login, if haven’t done so already. You will be asked to ‘Allow Google access?‘ Click on Allow.
7. Now that you have been redirected, select the twitter account you want your RSS feeds to be published to (only in case you have added multiple twitter accounts only.)
8. You can configure the available options, to your liking and then click on the Activate button at the bottom.

That’s it. Now whenever you post an article on your blog, the moment feedburner gets updated a tweet will be sent to your twitter account.

Advantages:

• Its a google service and integrated into the feedburner panel.
• Faster: Unlike twitterfeed, which checked your feed only once in the previously set custom time interval, this service tweets your post as soon as the feedburner feed is updated (which is rather quick).
• The post URL’s are shortened using google’s all new URL shortener; goo.gl.

Its a popular conception that Linux distros are meant only for the Geeks and coding gurus. However dsitros like Ubuntu have proved that just a little knowledge of operating a computer is enough to use systems like these. However still people are shy to make the switch.The main reason being that they just can’t get around the system with its ‘different’ interface.

With Xange, the equation changes totally. The GUI is almost similar to that of Windows Vista. In fact you can see the demo in the video right below:

The current version of the distro is called Xange 2009.09. Its been designed for netbooks, laptops, desktops and servers. According to their official website, the following applications are included in the default distro:

While using the feather-feature, many normal functions of YouTube are stopped, for eg, there are no ‘more videos from this user’, non-collapsible Related Videos, you cannot rate videos or post comments among others. Also much of the styling is foregone.

Although it is much faster, to load the page as well as videos, I personally wasn’t to please with it. But it does come in handy while watching 1080p HD videos.

Google Minimalist

Over the testing period, the engineers tried over 10 variants of the minimalist-to-fade-in look, and finally settled for the one which majority of the users settled for. Among the variants, one output was like the one below (the time when the Google implemented the barcode doodle):

But why did they do it? Well its all about, ‘How simple can you get?’. Twitter, with only 140 characters, is the benchmark of simplicity. Now even with its real-time searches and Bing, well Google had to do something to up its ante!
