]]> Many people log in to Facebook for its games. Farmville is one of the most popular games on Facebook. Farmville is a great way to pass time. It allows its users to virtually manage farms including harvesting, seeding, managing animals and constructing buildings.

Number of FarmVille users are over 10% of the users of Facebook. I have been a Farmville addict for one year and thought I would share some of the tips I used to get ahead in Farmville. ;-)

  1. Usually people forget when their crops are getting ready for harvesting. :-D A better idea is to try to sow different crops but of same harvest time and try to finish their mastery.
  2. If you want to earn money fast and you stay online a lot then sow berries as they take less time and give you good money. ;-)
  3. If you are not online regularly then crops like corn or potato are excellent as they take 2-3 days to get harvested.
  4. Do not just concentrate on getting more cash,very soon you will be frustrated. Do not waste farm cash because you wont get farm cash very easily. :-)
  5. Always send gifts and receive gifts. Help your neighbors and get helped in return.
  6. If you want to send some thing that’s not available in your free gift section but available in some body else’s then try sending any gift and look at the URL and just change the last word of it. Example: If you want to send a banana tree instead of any other tree replace the name by any other tree to banana tree this helps while completing collections.
  7. All animals and trees should be harvested at one time. Wait for all of them to get ready as that saves time and energy. :-)
  8. Use fence to manage your animals or else they start running around and creating a mess. Save your time. Click on stay on all the animals and please lock your avatar in haystacks or else he/she will take a lot of time in seeding.
  9. If you have money buy a tractor that saves time and fast output. Try to arrange a tractor, seeder etc and one tree/animal of each kind .
  10. Save the gifts in the box do not keep opening them repeatedly once you get the mastery of all gifts.
  11. You can select people (customize) who should be able to see free stuff or bonuses. This is better if you want to share bonus with people who share with you and not everyone.
  12. Please do not download any tools that play on Farmville even while you are offline. Most times such software cannot be trusted.

Remember there is no cheat code in Farmville, the more you play the more you find new ways to level up and stuff. I hope these tips help you and if you have any more tricks you are free to share it with me through comments.

So how does Facebook monetize a huge chunk of visitors who might not click on any advertisements as they are busy with only Farmville. Recently the new trend is to have branded crops on Framville.

Saatchi and Saatchi announced a breakthrough deal with allowing people playing Farmville to grow peanuts from Nutz to be grown as digital crops. This will actually mean Farmville and probably Facebook will earn money from the brand which can be grown digitally on Farmville.

These new branded crops will be available on the 14th April 2010 and there will be competitions with the new branded digital crops.

Now you can track your bonus points, get the latest updates from FarmVille’s official blog and check the time when your crops will be ready to harvest with a single toolbar. Well not only this, the FarmVille toolbar has an inbuilt search bar powered by Yahoo. You can also choose game between FarmVille and Mafia Wars (another popular game by Zynga).

How to Install?

  1. To install this toolbar use this link.(http://toolbar.zynga.com/install/farmville/).
  2. Connect your facebook profile with it.
  3. Click on install.
  4. Finally click on allow (on the top right of your window) and download the toolbar.
  5. Restart your browser.

But few things you have to consider before installing this toolbar.(Advantages and Disadvantages)

  1. This toolbar is compatible with Firefox 2+ versions only.
  2. This toolbar is very heavy (approx. 700 KB) as compared to other toolbars we use in Firefox. So obviously this will make your browser little slow.
  3. This toolbar has a link of Facebook inbox which is good.
  4. This toolbar seems to be a way of making Zynga and FarmVille more popular rather than making FarmVille more convenient for users, unnecessary links of forum and other games shows it all.
  5. You can disable some features of this toolbar by selecting ‘Toolbar Options’ after right clicking on it.

Well all I want to say about this toolbar is that this is meant for real FarmVille addicts, it’s quite useless for others. The purpose of making this toolbar is to keep people reminding about their Farm so that they will return again and again. ;)

]]> If you are a FarmVille addict on Facebook then this is a must read post for all you guys. Every player who loves to play Farville must be eager to grow his/her experience (XP) and level rapidly but it’s quite difficult when you crosses 20th level as the XP gap increases more and more after that to reach to next level. All you need is to select good crop while planting seeds on your farm. Let me tell you which and how crops can help you in increasing your XP and hence level. Just read ther three tips given below to play FarmVille efficiently.

1.More planting area = More XP:

It’s always better to keep your plantation area as large as possible cuz that’s the main source of your XP. Collect some coins and buy 22X22 (largest) plantation area as soon as possible and try to give more area to plantation rather than decoration which you can do anytime once you reach a higher level. Also more plantation area will help you to earn more and more points. See the farm below which is having a total plantation area of around 450 blocks.

2. More Coin = More XP:

Try planting those crop which gives more coin while harvesting. You can collect those coins and buy something from them from the market which will increase your XP as well. Suppose you collected 150000 coins, you can buy a Farmhouse from them which will give you 1500 XP in return. The crops which gives more coins while harvesting with respect to their original cost are Strawberries, Eggplant, Wheat, Grapes e.t.c.

3. More time you spent = More XP you gain:

If you have lots of spare time to spent on FarmVille then try planting seeds of those crops which harvests in 4-6 hours and gives you an XP of at least one. That will help you to increase your XP in every 4-6 hours and again you can plow after that which will give you an XP of one again per plowing. Crops like this are Strawberries and Blueberries e.t.c.

So try using these FarmVille tips and don’t forget to tell us your FarmVille level. ;)

To show FarmVille updates,

  1. Go to your Facebook’s homepage.
  2. Now on the left of ‘News Feed’ there will be some links like ‘Status Updates’, ‘Photos’, ‘Links’ e.t.c. At the bottom of these link find ‘more’ option and click on that.
  3. This ‘more’ link button shows the most used/recently used applications, obviously FarmVille will be there. If it’s not open FarmVille and return to homepage and try again.
  4. Once you find the ‘FarmVille’ button click on that and your ‘News Feed will show updates only from FarmVille.

You can earn coin bonus and gifts from these updates. For that either adopt an animal, Fertilize your friend’s crop, or get a bonus from your friends.To do so, click on the links given with each FarmVille update.

Just few minutes back I opened few of my presents. The gifts I got are good and useful but mostly are just for decoration of your farm. Out of thirty there were around 10-15 golden soldiers and silver ornament but I wan not able to  open other gifts and neither you can as the gift box’s capacity is of 30 gifts at a time. So you have to open few presents and then either place it in your farm or store them in store house. The best present I got was the 5 containers of fuel that is very useful for harvester, seeder or tractor.

To open your presents just click on the ‘Holiday Tree’ and select look inside. You have to open present one by one. The presents can still be sent or received till 7th of January. Money Matters: While playing Farmville, you should take care about your coin. Don’t get excited and expend all money available. It will difficult to survive for a week if you finish all money and do not get harvest. So spend wisely until you are close to 100,000 coins.

Concern on farming: Lots of people start Farmville with mission of buying vehicles or animal which are not meant for pro farmer. Take consider on planting seed and make lots of coins until you reach to level 15.  And also buying vehicles, animal, trees, etc reduce your coins and finally you don’t have anything to invest so be care and think about planting seeds.

Buildings and Decoration: When you take considered on planting seed and start making coins, no one can defeat you to reach to get the villa priced at $1,000,000 which is the dream of every Farmville player. Work hard and use vacant space for planting not for decorations.

Points with experience. There is so much you can do with the experience points. Harvest faithfully to build these points and you will be able to reach the higher levels quickly.

Do not invest in cash. Do not buy your Farmville money using your actual cash, which you earn instead by leveling and filling up surveys.

Lend a hand to your neighbors. Assist your neighbors will fetch you plenty of coins and develop a rapport with the fellow players. This will earn you neighbor ribbons.

Distribute gifts. Give away gifts to build a good relationship with your neighbors. It is necessary for all of you to get along well to get bigger in the game.

The protest was actually started by Pritam Bijlani called ‘Cause’ which got a boost up by Times of India report on it, and finally it worked.

Farm Ville is an online Facebook application cum game in which users can develop their farms. These were divided into territories with name and Flag of that particular county.Even the name of India was also there but Indian flag was missing earlier.

The main reason behind the protest is that even the flag of some lesser populated countries were available, yes lesser populated, even lesser than the total internet users of India. :D
