While chat's loading, keep an eye on it...right before it fully loads (and YOU have to be VISIBLE), the name of whomever's invisible pops for a quick second BELOW YOUR NAME and then goes back to its original place on your contact list. Proven and tested. I've been busted that way. I has no idea how my friend always knew. I made her tell me then tested it myself. REALLY works. You need really quick eyes!
