And govt should not try to privatise these PSUs as there is a fear of very high call rates by private operators once their monopoly is established. One should remeber that incoming call became free only after entry of BSMl/MTNL in market & if they become private the call rates will be high as happened in cement sector i hope BSNL will soon launch 3G so that it will be available all over the country . I don't agree on that point a bit, because MTNL don't have services at all in many places, say Karnataka! And also the link which you referred to says <i>"The launch will put the country on the global 3G map a month ahead of the process to offer private firms 3G licences."<i> means that license to other service providers are under process. @Deepak
