There is a healthy WordPress community in India. Many top bloggers from India, also prefer using WordPress and even the developer community is pretty much hooked on to it. To it only a matter of time, when some WordPress geeks got together somewhere in India to organize a WordCamp.
WordCamp will be held in Jabalpur, India on October, 15-16, 2011. 🙂
WordCamp Jabalpur 2011, will have an informal two-day workshop and conference at the Jabalpur Engineering College, Auditorium. It will feature some very good speakers from the WordPress community in India.
The WordCamp registration are open, and you can book your tickets from their website.
I guess, some might argue why is not happening in a bigger city like Mumbai, Pune or Bangalore. But I guess, a smaller town organizing such an event will have its own merits and charm.

Hmm I Should think about it but my parents won’t allow me as I am only 16yrs old 🙁
@Ayush: Yes, it might be difficult to get permission for you but I am sure there will be many more WordCamps in India in future, seeing the growth of WordPress community in India. 🙂
I am thinking to go with somebody living in Ahemdabad. I am still talking to my parents about this. But this time I will surely go by anyway No matter they allow me or not 😛
