I love making friends on Facebook, you can see that by the number of friends I have on my Facebook account. But sometimes I really get in trouble when I send a Friend Request and later I regret doing so. In that case the person may add me and I have to remove him/her from my friend list later. There was no tool to delete a friend request itself. But now there is. 🙂
As in the image below you can see I have sent a Friend Request which is waiting for confirmation.
If I do not want to get added by that person due to any reasons I can just go back to that page as below and cancel the request.
How to delete the friend request?
- goto the home page of that person
- besides the name you will be see ‘Awaiting friend confirmation’
- Click ‘x’
- It has been cancelled 🙂
Facebook developers are getting serious and reducing spam as much as possible. Last week also we saw that ‘not now’ and ‘Report Spam’ features were launched and now this. Overall, Facebook is making some good and nice changes which are getting highly appreciated. I thank Mark Zuckerberg for taking extra pains these days and i secretly wish Facebook to rock!

Update: You can now delete all the pending friend request on Facebook at just one place.

Is there anyway of listing all your ‘pending friend requests’ without going to each individual page? because I’ve got 100s that i need to delete and get my facebook account back to a healthy state !
@JustB Well you can see all your Pending friend request and delete them on one page itself. You can check this out
It won’t let me delete the friend request.
Says: “Temporary Error: Sorry, your connection failed at this time. Please try again.”
It’s been saying this for a few weeks. HELP!
@David I just tested this feature on my computer again but everything is working fine. Try refreshing your browser or clearing the Cache may be that would work! Check your internet speed also. Do let me know what happens.
this also happens to me everytmie I try to cancel a friend request I get the same temporary error message but this is only for one person not happens for other people please help me on this issue
I need your help pleas, My Face book account was locked for 4 days but it opened after two days thats actually good but still i can’t send a friend request! It shows me that it have sent the request but it can’t reach there. I’m sure you got some thing to say about this pleas feel it, it’s face book!
Yes Samson dont worry you may have sent a lot of friend requests so this is happening. wait for some days and avoid sending abrupt friend requests things will be solved!

Once the friend request is cancelled will they still receive a notification with your name on it and/or an email with your name on it? Because then they will know you added them and cancelled it.
Yes, plus they will get a mail as well.
