Mozilla might be planning a new OS to challenge the rise of Android but fact is it is one of the most widely adopted mobile OS platforms and it is open-source. Android was formed in 2003, while it was acquired by Google in 2005. From there onwards there was no looking back and it is widely known to be the most used mobile platform in the world.
