When we look at the Asia Pacific region on the whole, reports tell us that many countries that have the highest reach in social networking also have the highest level of site engagement. Amongst the list of top 10, Singapore leads in the Asia-Pacific region in terms of penetration. Out of Singapore’s online population, 74 % of them visit social networking sites, reports suggest.
Other countries on the list with a strong social networking penetration were Australia (at number 2), South Korea (at number 3) and Malaysia (at number 4). India, however showed a below average penetration and engagement, in spite of a strong growth throughout the year.

These numbers doesn’t make sense… 60.3 % reach of what?
@sachin:
It would mean 60.3 % of India’s online population visiting a social networking site.
Interesting… so the total Indian online population is less than 50 million (juxt consult and comscore data)… now 60% of this is around 30 millions…
India’s largest network Orkut says they have 13 million users. So are you telling me that the remaining 17 million users are coming from other social networks?
Just checked, according to comScore, the total Internet audience by end of 2008 was around 32 million.
