Facebook Number GameAfter the Facebook cartoon meme, it’s a number game now. Facebook has become a world of its own. There are games, memes and a huge number of total different things.

I got this message in the morning saying

“Pick a number then send it to the people and they’ll post something. About you and vise versa.. Send it in a message. “

What is number game on Facebook ?

Choose a friend and send him/her a number and he will reply with something about you in front of that number. Funny right? It could be a funny thing as well as a game like truth and dare. Only you and the other person to whom you have sent a number knows about it. ๐Ÿ™‚

eg You sent : #2

Status message of your friend: #2 Like to have you as a friend. Lets meet ย  ย  ย  ย  ย this Christmas!

This is gaining popularity on twitter as well as Facebook. Origin of this game is not yet known. I will keep you updated with it as and when I get to know it. Till then I am going to send some numbers to my friends and see what they have to say about or for me. ๐Ÿ™‚

Facebook meme

There are some people who are not sure of what it is,ย whereas others are enjoying it to the best.

A lady on Facebook says

#420 lol thisย numberย fits you. From twitter toย Facebookย although I’ve never met you I think Ur such a dope person definitely someone I could see myself chilling with . You seem like you got it together you get my respect for that.

And there are people who just don’t like it .

A man says ,

Ok i’ve never been this attracted to Facebook but this number game is DOPE hit my inbox.

Why should you Play number game ?

This is the last month of the year 2010. This can be a good time to say good things about others. ๐Ÿ™‚ You can message numbers to all of your friends and expect a reply. Don’t you think this can be a good opportunity to talk to all.

The point is not if people like it or not, but instead Facebook is getting more and more of a world of its own. It can create a news, raise awareness… and waste your time all at once ! ๐Ÿ™‚ Are you enjoying this game? Do you like Facebook doing such things ? Share your views through the comments below.

[Update] There is a Facebook Page dedicated to the number Game launched some hours ago. It had already got 739+ people. There is a twitter page also dedicated to it now. ๐Ÿ™‚ It is getting viral on twitter too.

Number game: really annoying and a huge wast of time. Post whatever u have to say on their damn page.

Himadri Dimri December 8, 2010

Yes Kendra but look at it, now people have started playing this on twitter also !

k! December 9, 2010

it’s only a waste of your time several people are enjoying myself personally am not just because you don’t like does not mean it is a waste of time. Maybe reading your comment is a waste of my time but not to the point that I wasn’t going to leave a comment. Are you upset that no one has sent you a number? LMAO

Himadri Dimri December 9, 2010

@K Facebook is a place to have fun at times. No body is asking you to be serious there..If you are enjoying the game whats wrong in that ? ๐Ÿ™‚

Preston Million December 8, 2010

Thank you for including our link in your post; You may contact us to schedule an interview if you’d like – the info is on the page.

Yes you are welcome Preston. You can contact me through mail at himadri[dot]dimri[at]fbknol[dot]com ..

Ak December 9, 2010

Please don’t consider take this as an offense.Seriously, most of the posts (by you) are useless here. Who would blog about such a thing in detail! And then it seems like a publicity gimmick to me.
Anyhow, I was sad to see Rahul sharing this link. This place needs more creative and informative posts (eg like those of Aditya Kane).

Himadri Dimri December 9, 2010

Thanks AK for taking time to express your views and concerns here. At Fbknol, our goal is to help facebook users with every small update and this post was my answer to many queries I received from fbknol fans. I guess you are used to DW’s high-tech content and in that case I am sorry to say you will not find anything like it here as goal of fbknol is to connect with not-so-techie fb users. ๐Ÿ™‚

Aditya Kane December 9, 2010

I am glad you like my posts but there are quite a few people who follow Himadri and her posts religiously here on Fbknol. If you land up on Fbknol you can be pretty sure it is about what is new and happening on Facebook. All social networks have their bit of silly fun and we as a fan-blog of Facebook will cover such fun things. ๐Ÿ™‚

Rahul Bansal December 9, 2010

@Ak
Himadri already explained what this blog is all about.
Want to add one more point – I posted a code snippet which was related to fb share feature on DW and not fbknol (see link)
Again, as this blog is for all small thing related to facebook, a geek may find many things too easy but its bit rude to call them useless IMHO.

Coming back to me sharing this post, I really found this nice.
It was also my way of rewarding Himadri who spotted this trend very early.
If you see my facebook wall you will find many more links which are “useless” going by your judgement.
My facebook profile is my personal space and I share there what I like and care less if others will like it or not.

Mohul December 9, 2010

hey AK.. it was certainly rude terming these wonderful postings by Himadri as ‘useless’! from a blogger’s point of view, it is a niche blog, dedicated to the facebook fans and followers.. and with close to half a billion population hooked on to FB for atleast an hour daily, I am pretty sure this blog will only rise in future.. we cant compare blogs this way.. and yes.. it was Rahul’s post on FB which brought me here, and I am thankful to him.. certainly a very use’ful’ blog
ps: no offense mate :d

Himadri Dimri December 9, 2010

Thank you @Aditya @Rahul and @Mohul for the nice words. ๐Ÿ™‚

Mohul December 9, 2010

wow!! the FB page has close to 2k likes now.. its certainly going viral with a capital V.. and very fast and accurate observation by you, Himadri.. keep up the awesome work you are doing.. ๐Ÿ™‚

Himadri Dimri December 9, 2010

@Mohul thank you, yes I see its getting closer to 2K now. Even this post is getting close to 300 shares now ๐Ÿ˜€

nokia December 9, 2010

what you think that you can write anything and people will follow

Himadri Dimri December 9, 2010

@nokia I am not asking anybody to follow me. As you can see my comment above I just replied to what Facebook lovers wanted to know. It depends on person to person what he likes and dislikes. Secondly, Its better to use your name the link comes automatically. ๐Ÿ™‚

Shradha December 9, 2010

You know what I find hilarious? The fact that people who apparently ‘hate’ Facebooknol – are actually here, reading posts, and responding to things they consider a waste of time. Ironical they were looking up and reading the very thing they demean!

Courtney Islas December 9, 2010

Really, I myself found this pretty awesome. My feed has just been hit with the number game and it confused the heck out of me, and this was so detailed I tried it out right away!

Thanks, @Himadri!

Himadri Dimri December 9, 2010

You are most welcome Courtney. Try using some personal numbers than just plain 1,2,3… Maybe a number that relates just you and your friend. May be your seat number in high school or something ๐Ÿ™‚

As December 9, 2010

this game is confusing, but yet i would like to ask a question about it :)…. ok, after i send my friend the number, eg. 2, and she post up on her wall, ” #2, love being frens with u”, wat do i do after then? do i go and comment under that post?

Himadri Dimri December 9, 2010

That depends on you As, if you wish to then you can.. Its a game in which you are talking publicly about the other person without giving a hint to any other person ๐Ÿ™‚ So enjoy that!

Sauravjit December 11, 2010

@AK{who so ever you are}
Dude if you don’t like her posts and other posts at fbknol.com and you think our posts are useless then just don’t read them. ๐Ÿ™‚
And we hardly care about it because we know (through our stats and data) that there are thousands of other people in this world who visit this blog everyday and finds our posts interesting(after all that’s why they are here).
Obviously not every post is a super posts which’s gonna get hundreds of visitors every hour so we have to keep on testing and publishing random posts to see what readers(P.S not like you) ๐Ÿ˜› want to read. ๐Ÿ˜€

Himadri Dimri December 11, 2010

He he thanks Sauravjit ๐Ÿ™‚

Rummy November 9, 2011
