marinos June 7, 2008

the problem is someone is changing stuff in my pc. i think it’s someone in my msn contact list who does these things.
i fix this problem and after a while it comes again.
btw my “win key” does not work. and this started today for the first time (when the task manager problem reappeared)
nod32,spybot and adaware don’t find anything suspicious

any suggestions?

Rahul Bansal June 8, 2008

@marinos
First you better install firewall like zone alarm.
Next also make sure your antivirus is updated.

sc0tt August 3, 2008

Thanks! Worked great.

I think some of my daughter’s kiddie software messed up my settings.

The MS help page was no help at all.

Note: I didnt get any error message at all

Thanks in advance

Rahul Bansal September 25, 2008

@Ravikumar
I guess there is some virus on system which need to be fixed using anti-virus only.

this is a self written tool in C by a guy named Piyush and is extraordinarily functional

omar September 29, 2008

i have this around a week ago and i try all thing with my friend from china but nothing change at i make f-desk to my pc but same all thing is same finally we find that not virus it’s Trojan in ram,hard desk,prosers. the solution for this just by same hacker whom make this trojan. we ask that person to stop this in faster time if not mind.

thank you for all

Rahul Bansal October 1, 2008

@omar
Actually this happen because of changes in registry. Now WHO changes your registry decides impact of it.
If its a silly program, then above solution is sufficient.
If its virus/trojan, then antivirus like softwares are needed.
In your case, I guess in addition to antivirus a good firewall could help.

harish October 18, 2008

Thanks dude… now i’m able to access both… can u tell me why this problem occurs… was it because of a virus… and what did the runline command actually do?

Omar October 19, 2008

@Rahul Bansal – Rahul.

what should i do?

Omar November 27, 2008

@Rahul Bansal – people may be this good news or bad but in any way let me tell this for all, this problem come with transfer file from net or other way’s i had this problem when i used program teamviewer. there is many program like this one so please be careful when use any thing like this best anti virus it’s kaspersky 2009 this one amazing….

Rahul Bansal November 28, 2008

@Omar
There are many reasons which can cause this problem.
Registry hack given above is one of the solution.
Its always better to have a good antivirus. You should definitely use it if task manager keep getting disabled every time you start your computer.

Omar November 29, 2008

@Rahul Bansal – which kind of anti virus do you use there? now i use kaspersky but this one always ask for key..since i use this anti virus i never face that virus again…

Rahul Bansal November 29, 2008

@Omar
I use NOD32 on every windows machine.
Its just too good. 🙂

Param April 28, 2011

plz give me the latest username and password for nod32
thanx

Cereal December 8, 2008

Thank you so much! I have been having this problem for a while but never bothered to look it up until some of the programs won’t close and i would have to resstart!

Anirudh December 17, 2008

Using Windows itself brings in a whole bunch of problems. The hack above is cool, but it won’t stay that way for long. Sooner or later, Windows always gets affected (we’ve to be suspicious and scared while even inserting a Pen Drive now).

Shun Microsoft, go with Linux 🙂

Rahul Bansal December 20, 2008

@Anirudh
Well windows is worst and linux is better… but MAC is the best! 😀

Rizvy January 3, 2009

Hey man every time I need to give my task manager is being disabled; and every time I have to give that code. Can u please provide me a permanent solution it will be helpful for me.

Rahul Bansal March 5, 2009

@taher
Run antivirus on your system. It is infected.
If it doesn’t work, you need to reinstall windows.

Binaryreligion February 16, 2009

I’ve seen this problem twice now, and I happened to have a piece of software handy which solved the problem in under 20minutes.
It’s called SDFix. You can google it.

So far out of the last 30 machines I’ve had with weird and wonderful problems, and/or me knowing there is adware/malware/spyware on it that most other apps don’t pick up. It has fixed 29 of them 😀

Farking brilliant piece of software.
Only word of advice I have is, if you have AV running on the machine you plan to use it on, uninstall the AV first. There is a file used by the SDFix that is picked up as a PRC Viewer and is then deleted.

Siva April 17, 2009

hi na,

I tried with the code provided by you.
“REG add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System /v DisableTaskMgr /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f”

It has enabled my taskmanager but its not still appearing on the system. It blinks and shine off …Can u suggest me to get rid of this issue

Rahul Bansal April 22, 2009

@SIva
Running above code will not open any window permanently.
But if “blinking” is not fixing your problem, your system may be infected with Virus.

i have tried all that stuff, running anti virus (Mc afee), changing setting through gpedit.msc etc, but then this problem “task manager has been disabled..” keeps appearing everytime, even when the subject setting in group policy is “disabled”. NOW the most strande thing i noticed today is, the Task Manager is working properly for the account without admin rights (users) but its not working for both, the administrator a/c and the other a/c with admin rights.
can you please guide me 🙂
regards,
arvind

Krishna August 18, 2009

i find that my pc doesnot restart after choosing “Restart” at the shut down bar. It opens the motherboard logo, but the setup(“F2”) key appears after approx. one second, windows starts,desktop appears,but no input is taken from keyboard or mouse!!!

Then, without any option, i need to forc it shut off”completely”( not restart). It opens normally. This is happening only when restarted. Does mother board get virus, or why booting is not happeing properly? Pl. help.
